A different way to build support around birth

AMAMA is a collaborative maternal-support practice based in Budapest, supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the early postpartum period.

Instead of working as isolated practitioners, our doulas work in small teams, with continuity, real backup, shared professional standards and ongoing supervision. Around that core we bring together childbirth education, postpartum preparation, newborn care and trusted professional connections — so families don’t have to assemble their support system alone.

A baby is born. And a family is becoming.

Pregnancy and birth don’t only change a woman. They change a relationship, too. Becoming parents can bring enormous closeness — and also exhaustion, new expectations, less time together and feelings that are surprisingly difficult to say out loud.

At AMAMA, we make space for these changes. We encourage couples to talk, prepare together, ask for help and stay curious about what is happening to each other. Sometimes support looks like a birth room. Sometimes it looks like having tea together and remembering that you are still partners while becoming parents.

A practice that can hold its practitioners

AMAMA is also becoming a living practice laboratory: exploring how collaborative doula care can be sustainable for families, professionals and the communities around them. Small teams, real backup, supervision and trusted relationships help the people providing care continue their work.
